TOP HAIR TIPS
1. Keep it simple – Women prefer men who are clean, groomed and well maintained without being completely over the top. Be warned, if you spend longer on your hair than she does. Classic styles are best and are very easy to maintain. Shampoo. Rinse. Face Shave. Moisturise. Styling Product. Done.

2. If you have longer hair, or if your hair often appears brittle and “frizzy” try using silk pillow slips, they are gentler and will give your hair a smoother appearance in the morning. Also, don’t be afraid to use a straightening iron as they can make a huge difference. Just lock the bathroom door & she will never know.

3. Be sure to rinse out any styling products before going to bed – the natural oil in your scalp mixed with any styling product can leave your pillow slips with a greasy layer that finds its way onto your face and causes break outs. Try a double rinse of LS&B Recharge Shampoo before bed.

4. Do not cut your hair at home. It never works. There is a lot that goes into a seriously good hair cut and a qualified hairdresser understands face shapes, texture and the amount of hair on your head. Even a clipper cut can be drastically improved if provided by a good hairdresser, and they will usually show you how to style your hair at home as part of the process.

Fight Aging and Stay Young Looking

These tips are not the miracle cure for wrinkles and sagging, but if you follow them it will hold back the years until a miracle cure comes along!


1.Sunscreen

Who is Jack Black?

I first saw this classic looking black and red label on a lip balm my friend let me use while I was on a holiday in Italy.  Desperately needed something to calm my cracked lips which has been hovering since London.  Didn't really pay much attention to the label as it's not exactly eye catching, "Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm" and I stress the word "Intense".  I have to say though, this is the first lip balm I have used that does exactly does what it says, soothes and relieves dry, chapped, irritated lips.  No fuss, does the job, in fact the effect was almost instantaneous!  So, "Intense" is probably the right word for this lip balm, and needless to say when I got back to London and still mid winter, I desperately wanted it as my lips started feeling dry again.  


I had to look up the internet as I couldn't find it in the local chemist, and to my surprise, I discovered that the range of products Jack Black spans to more then just lip balm!  It actually has a full range of shaving products which they are known for, plus body and face products.  And this particular lip balm I used is actually one of their best sellers!  So from one lip balm, I also ended up with their full shaving works.  


Now lets talk about their shaving line, It starts with the face scrub they call the face buff energising scrub, which is a great pre-shave wash to clear your dead skin cells and give you that nice smooth environment to shave.  I noticed that there are some really good ingredients in this scrub such Vitamin C and licorice extract for their anti-aging benefits, micro-fine scrubbing grains to polish the skin and menthol for its cooling, antibacterial properties.

For the actual shaving cream, I bought the lube conditioning shave cream which is actually a half cream and half oil mixture.  I wanted to try this out as this is the first I have heard of a shave cream mixed with Macadamia and jojoba oil, and it ended up being in one of the smoothest shave I have ever had!  Though I don't have a full growth beard, what I do have is very thick and sharp facial hair which can cause havoc if I don't take precaution.  I usually use pre shave oil as it's the best for that glide action you want from a shave.  This product though does something extra, it gives you that razor glide feel but you don't feel very oily afterwards unlike conventional shaving oils. It also gives you that nice cooling feel which is just the best feeling in the world especially after a nice smooth shave.

To finish off, I used the Post Shave Cooling Gel which frankly I could do without as I didn't actually nick myself with the blade.  However, this gel to me actually felt like a light weight moisturiser but with the added benefits of calming properties for people with sensitive and irritated skin.  So it was a bonus for me, I didn't need to reach out for my oil free moisturiser like I always do after a shave.

I have used quite a lot of shaving products before, and I'm sure there are also other great products you can try out there in the market, but I have to say, Jack Black is one brand which does exactly what it says, no fuss, simple to use, a no frills brand made for men.  It smells very masculine and very reasonably priced compared to other products  It's basically a guy's guy product, for the simple minded but yet self aware male body.

Keep Break Outs At Bay!

The harsh dryness of the Australian climate can cause havoc for people with oily or combination skin.  Given that summer is just around the corner, lets us at SpaceM recommend some tried and tested products to you and put in place a plan to prevent future breakouts.

It basically all comes down to 4 simple steps.  Cleanse, Tone, Exfoliate / Scrub and Moisturise.   To further enhance the routine, use a face mask twice a week to draw out oil and impurities from your pores.

1. Keep Your Face Clean, Cleanse Regularly!

Wash your face at least once a day but preferably twice a day once in the morning and before going to bed. Your daily cleansing products need to be formulated for oily (or combination) skin to really cleanse and treat. Grabbing a product that’s prepared for normal or even dry skin won’t help much, and could make matters worse. We recommend the Triple Action Cleanser by Alpha-H and Glycolic Facial Cleanser by Anthony Logistics which keeps the skin clean but contains ingredients which are not harsh for the skin.

2. Wash Your Face With Cold Water

If you can, try washing your face with cold water as cold water prevents the pores from expanding too much and if water is too warm or hot, it can make oiler skin worse by stimulating further oil production. Try using a toner after cleansing to close the pores.

3. Use a Toner You can use a rounded facial pad to absorb the toner solution and apply over the oiler areas of your face. Toners are designed to cut through and absorb excess oils, refresh the skin and helps close the pores. Try the Herbal Mint Toner by Baxter  or the Grease Relief Face Tonic by Ole Henriksen. Both alcohol free and not too harsh for the skin.

4. Use A Facial Scrub

Facial scrubs will remove the dead skin cells as well as remove and prevent any blocked pores which can cause black heads and lead to pimples and spots. Use twice a week along with a pore cleansing mask to keep pores clean and free of any dirt and impurities. 5. Use An Oil Free Moisturiser

Oil free moisturisers are lighter compared to normal moisturisers but they still do the job with locking moisture into the skin. Just because your skin gets oily doesn’t mean it can’t get dehydrated. Try using the Oil Free Facial Lotion by Anthony Logistics or the Maximum Hydration Facial Lotion by Manceuticals.  You will find that these 3 moisturisers will do a great job in keeping the shine at bay.                                     Maximum Hydration Lotion 6. Use a Facial Mask For oily skin, the best type of mask to use will be the ones made from clay or mud as they are the most effective in absorbing excess grime and grease. Use Special Spot Treatments If oily skin results in blemishes and acne.
